My name is Travis McCollum. I am an award winning freelance comic book/entertainment journalist and stand-up comedian. I originally started working as a journalist back in 2009 on the critically acclaimed film blog “The Movie Encyclopedia,” a site I started on a whim one day in memory of my grandmother. Shortly afterwards I joined up with The Large Association of Movie Blogs (LAMB for short) and stayed on until 2011 when I decided it was time to refocus myself and find a new direction for my writing. In 2012 that opportunity came in the form of the website Talking Comics, for which I am currently the news editor. In that time I really found my voice and my love of journalism and made friends both in and outside of the industry that I will never forget. During all this time, I worked as a stand-up comedian in my local scene, something I still love to do almost five years later.

Now I’ve started Comic Thought, my own personal blog in which I plan to give you, the reader, a chance to get the latest and greatest comic book news, reviews, interviews and everything in between. If you like what you read, you can follow me on Twitter @TravisMcCollum or on our official Facebook Page Comic Thought.
